stretching from broome in the western edge of the kimberley to kununurra in the east, once you've been, there is VERY little chance you won't return. it is incredibly remote and unless you happen to have a boat or helicopter, remains mostly inaccessible. it is sparsely populated, hot & humid.... but the rewards for making the effort will astound you in just so many ways.
ancient lands in the north west of western Australia that we currently choose to call home. a land of extremes. a culturally & economically significant landscape, it is always dynamic, unforgiving & (mostly) pretty damn hot. in spite of the inhospitable nature of its climate, it draws you in and captures you with it's immense beauty and contrasts.
rugged coastlines, forests and wine. an unjust simplification of a truly beautiful part of western australia
mostly shot around port hedland, there aren't too many places that provide the contrast of mining, shipping, industry, commercial and residential in such close proximity. it possesses it's own unique form of beauty

reflecting, it's a little amusing that with an architectural design background, i really don't have many images of buildings. more of a consequence of where i have lived since my passion for photography kicked in, than a true reflection of my interest in the subject. hopefully it is a case of watch this space...
while i may not have owned many, I will freely admit that i am a bit of a car nut. be it modern, a bit older or a real classic, i have a deep appreciation for a well put together automobile. it definitely helps if it is a bit of a looker...
what an absolutely amazing country.... I have not nearly seen enough of this land and its kind and immensely resilient people. and yes, the temples DO actually need to be seen to be believed
please also visit my instagram account @craigrowlesphoto for many more images of this amazing country...
step into the shadows
there is something that draws us back to malaysia time and time again. it is a bit of an assault on the senses...the smell and the taste (aaah the food) immediately come to mind, but it is also the diversity and the hustle and bustle of the cities that excites.
a wildly diverse country of thousands of islands and hundreds of languages
land of the long white cloud. stunning scenery that I would love to revisit to take some serious photos. these are from a mountaineering trip we did more than a decade ago
live music is one of my REAL loves. when i had the chance to combine it with another passion (photography) it took it to a WHOLE other level. the music plus the excitement of capturing a worthy image.... i was lost for words.
